Sacrifice Beads (Something Blue)

from $19.99

These hand made sacrifice beads are an extremely limited run, so grab your favorite before it sells out! This first line is designed to fulfill your “Something Blue” — perfect as a gift for yourself, for your fiancé or spouse, or for a bride in your life who still needs something blue (or something new!).

Marriage is about sacrifice. In marriage, we are constantly called to die to self, to put the needs of the other first. But we live in a fallen world.

Marriage is a constant pouring into the other and giving of ourselves. But we are a fallen people in a fallen world, and it’s easy to succumb to selfishness.

Sacrifice beads are a beautiful tool designed used by Catholics of all walks in life, but can be especially helpful in marriage. They can also be a wonderful practice during engagement to help prepare the mind and soul for the ultimate gift of self that is marriage.

What are Sacrifice Beads?
Sacrifice beads are a rope of 10 beads that started with St. Thérèse, the Little Flower. When practicing a virtue, she would pull the beads along the string to keep track of the times she had made a sacrifice. Sacrifice beads can be used according to the needs of your life.

Trying to remember to pray for those you love? Say a prayer and pull a bead.

Trying to get in a healthy habit with household chores? Do a load of dishes and pull a bead.

Trying to unplug and focus on what matters? Set the phone down and pull a bead.

Features:

  • 1.25″ x 0.75″ silver-plated crucifix made in Italy, purchased from St. Paul Street Evangelization, “a grassroots, non-profit organization, dedicated to responding to the mandate of Jesus to preach the Gospel to all nations by taking the Catholic Faith to the streets.”

  • Flex wire consists of 49 smaller wires stranded together and nylon-coated for the best flexibility. Unlike standard cotton cord, this wire is near-indestructible to last the life of your sacrifice beads.

  • All glass beads are solid color glass, which means the base color of the glass is saturated throughout the object and will not fade or rub off over time.

  • 10 moveable beads and one stationary bead so this can double as a rosary.

  • Silver-Plated zinc alloy, 1” tall St. Thérèse of Lisieux medal imported from Italy, purchased from St. Paul Street Evangelization.

  • 12mm silver (made of iron) Lobster claw clasp so beads can be easily fastened for safe keeping, such as a purse zipper pull — or around flowers in your wedding bouquet!

Options include:

Dark blue 6mm round Druk beads imported from the Czech Republic.

Teal blue 6mm round fiber optic glass cat's eye beads get their name from the way they refract light, resembling the oblong center of a cat's eye. These beads feature an attractive color shift and inner glow.

Olive wood prayer beads imported directly from Bethlehem & Jerusalem, produced by the Bethlehem Christian community. Vintage olive wood beads are treated with a natural base sealer to protect the timber from humidity and sweat. The beads are not made by cutting down trees; these olive wood beads are made with great respect to the environment and tradition. Since these beads are handmade, some will have minor dimples that do not impact the integrity of the beads.
